Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Scheduling Coordinator to join our team at SGA, a technology and resource solutions provider. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to work with us in delivering exceptional services to our clients.

Estimated Salary Range

$65,000 - $85,000 per year, based on experience and location.

Job Responsibilities
  • Schedule procedures for patients, verify insurance eligibility, and review benefits, including co-pay and deductible, for Children's Hospital Operating Room and Ambulatory Surgery Center, as well as outside hospitals and surgery centers.
  • Collaborate with parents and other departments to schedule patients in a timely manner, ensuring accurate registrations, demographic information, and insurance details.
  • Verify guardianship/custody issues that may arise and coordinate vendor or specialized equipment required for surgical procedures upon request.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in patient registration, medical insurance verification, preferably in a hospital or physician's office setting
  • Proficiency in Cerner and similar EMR systems, CNHS HBOC, and PPM/PSM systems
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, consumer relations, and telephone skills required
  • Strong knowledge of medical insurance verification procedures, insurance screening, financial counseling, billing, and healthcare business operations, as well as working knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 coding
  • Ability to multitask and possess medical terminology knowledge
