Senior Device Engineer

Join DISH Network L.L.C as a Senior Device Engineer and be part of our Wireless Technology organization, transforming the future of connectivity by building the country's first virtualized, standalone 5G wireless network from scratch.
Job Summary:The Senior Device Engineer will work closely with internal cross-functional teams and external vendors/suppliers for enterprise device certification. This role requires working with Chipsets/OEMs/3rd Party Labs to create an overall strategic technical vision and roadmap for DISH Wireless Enterprise devices, which includes modules, smartphones, feature phones, tablets, hotspots, wearables, laptops, and other IOT devices.
Key Responsibilities:- Work with OEM and Product Managers to analyze, research and document technical requirements for new product/modem feature capabilities (e.g. eSIM, iSIM, VoNR, VoLTE, VoWifi, 5G) and develop Product Requirements Documents (PRDs), Device Requirements, Device Test Plans, as required in support of each enterprise project.
- Provide technical expertise in wireless technologies, including IMS, 5G, LTE, 3G, VoLTE, and WiFi Calling, along with L2/L3 protocols such as MAC, RLC, PDCP, SDAP, and control signaling.
- Design and analyze E2E call flows, including handover support across EPS, 5GC, VoNR, EPS Fallback, and N3IWF/ATSS/ANDSP.
- Collaborate with Product Manager, Core, IT, and RAN Engineering teams to understand the Enterprise Device roadmap and its impact on network systems.
- Travel 10-20% of the time for feature alignment with vendors, device feature validation, testing modem features, and participating in debugging sessions.
- Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Telecommunications Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, system design and product development for smartphones, feature phones, tablets, hotspots, and IOT devices throughout the product life cycle
- 2+ years of experience in cellular product network certification on network-specific configurations (e.g. DNN/APN, eSIM), network features testing (e.g. RF conformance and parametric testing, VoNR, RCS, iMessage, Facetime, RCS, roaming) and OSS/BSS integration
