We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team at Huitt-Zollars. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical power systems, including site and facilities electrical power, communications, and interior/exterior lighting systems.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop electrical power systems, including site and facilities electrical power, communications, and interior/exterior lighting systems.
- Perform electrical system planning, including electric distribution layouts, specifications of wiring systems, and analysis of loads.
- Calculate lighting illumination levels and design lighting layouts for both interior and exterior lighting projects.
- Perform electrical studies, including voltage drop/dip, short circuit, and overcurrent coordination studies.
- Prepare technical reports for engineering studies and coordinate with other HZ disciplines, utility companies, consulting engineers, architects, and contractors to maximize efficiency and effectiveness in project design.
- Review project construction submittals and shop drawings, and visit construction sites to perform project construction observations and prepare punch lists.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
- Registered Professional Engineer in STATE.
- 5-10+ years of Electrical engineering design experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit BIM.
- Proficiency with Electrical analysis software such as SKM Powertools, Easypower (or equivalent), and lighting analysis with AGi32 or equivalent.
- Experience performing short circuit, voltage drop, protective device coordination.
- Intermediate skills with spreadsheet software.
- Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 101.
- Familiarity with industry energy standards (ASHRAE 90.1, IECC).
- Ability to interact with clients and multi-discipline team members.
- Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
