Position Overview:
Starting Salary: $15.00/hr. Become an integral part of a vibrant and diverse team, collaborating with full-time staff to deliver exceptional support and resolve technological challenges. Your daily responsibilities will include assisting students, faculty, and staff across the UA system in diagnosing and troubleshooting various technology-related issues. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to engage in project teams within a DevOps framework, allowing you to expand your knowledge of technology in an enjoyable and educational setting. Key Responsibilities:
- Answer phone calls, assist walk-in clients, and troubleshoot both university and personal computers.
- Collaborate with OIT Customer Support Services personnel to provide technology assistance.
- Gain familiarity with major consumer operating systems.
- Learn to identify and eliminate malware.
- Understand how to diagnose, repair, and upgrade technology hardware.
- Offer recommendations for technology purchases.
- Participate in various projects, including Smart Classroom Technology installations.
- Deliver supplies such as paper and toner to different departments as required.
Applicant Instructions:
Please submit a cover letter, resume, and three professional references. This is a part-time position, offering up to 20 hours per week while classes are in session, with additional hours available during breaks. Student Assistant C roles are compensated at $15.00/hr.
Education and Experience Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent is required. Experience that equips you with the ability to learn skills in information systems technology and customer service is preferred. A valid driver's license is also preferred. Previous experience is advantageous but not mandatory, as OIT is committed to providing training and career development.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
The ideal candidate will be customer-oriented and possess a friendly demeanor, capable of handling occasional stressful situations. A basic understanding of technology and familiarity with major desktop and mobile operating systems is essential. A willingness to learn about technology is highly valued.
