Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to join our team at the Superior Drive Support Center. In this role, you will be responsible for biological specimen receipt, identification verification, processing, and storage. You will also perform various clerical, processing, and laboratory duties, including maintaining supply inventory, filing, stocking, receiving shipments, and cleaning.

Responsibilities

* Receive, process, and store biological specimens in a timely and accurate manner
* Verify specimen identification and ensure proper labeling and handling
* Perform various laboratory duties, including maintaining supply inventory, filing, stocking, receiving shipments, and cleaning
* Collaborate with team members to maintain a safe and efficient work environment
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory operations

Requirements

* High school diploma or equivalent required
* 1-2 years of medical experience preferred
* Knowledge of laboratory functions and medical terminology preferred
* Ability to stay organized, prioritize, and shift gears in a busy environment
* Conscientious of details and strict safety requirements for handling chemicals, reagents, and infectious agents
* Ability to work independently and as a contributing team member
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills
