Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Employee Health Nurse PRN to join our team at Methodist Health System. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for promoting health, safety, and wellness to all employees by facilitating an Employee Health and Wellness program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer daily operations of Employee Health & Wellness Center (EHWC) Services under the direction of the Corporate Director.
  • Conduct employee health screenings and Biometric testing, provide drug screenings, administer vaccines, and promote a safe work environment.
  • Serve as a resource for minor health needs of employees and provide minor first aid treatment for employee injuries within the scope of practice for the LVN.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure completion of all health screenings.
  • Conduct follow-up surveillance of employee work-related exposures to communicable diseases and collaborate with Infection Prevention and Control.
  • Conduct pre-employment screenings and Biometric testing, drug screens, and annual employee health history and immunizations update for Methodist Health System, Corporate, PPM, and Prime.
  • Coordinate annual hearing test for Physical Plant and Security. Is certified in audiometric training.
  • Counsel employees, draw blood, and complete paperwork related to BBP (Blood-borne Pathogen) Exposures.
  • Maintain Employee Health and Wellness Center Records.
  • Manage the protocol for the evaluation and management of healthcare worker TB exposure and/or conversions. Administer testing per protocol for TB exposures and provide appropriate reports to the Infection Prevention and Control Department and the Corporate Director.
  • Offer/provide health and wellness educational materials. Act as a resource, within the scope of practice for the LVN, for minor health needs of employees.
  • Oversee testing for chemical hazard program. Monitor badge program related to chemical hazards program.
  • Participate as an active member of the Infection Prevention and Control Committee and on other hospital-wide committees as designated.
  • Perform annual fit testing. Train trainers for fit-testing of N-95 masks (when appropriate). Train and maintain annual competency and education records of personnel placing and reading TST for MHS personnel.
  • Perform data entry in BD – Respond program/new program.
  • Plan, implement, and conduct the annual Flu Vaccine Program.
  • Refer employees with identifiable limitations and/or health risks to appropriate resources.
