Job Summary:

This PRN opportunity is designed to cover periodic therapist time off or short-term staffing needs at various outpatient therapy clinics. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct occupational therapy evaluations and treatments, as well as collaborating with physicians, patients, and other healthcare team members to ensure effective patient care and discharge planning.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide direct occupational therapy evaluations and re-evaluations, including assessment of prior and current level of function, setting individualized goals, and making discharge recommendations.
  2. Deliver direct occupational therapy treatments, including patient and family education, progression of treatment plans, and implementation of appropriate therapeutic interventions.
  3. Report on patient progress through written documentation, including evaluation forms, progress notes, and education forms.
  4. Collaborate with physicians, patients, family, and other healthcare team members relative to patient treatment and progress.
  5. Participate in departmental meetings, in-services, rounds, and peer reviews.
  6. Assume other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Team Leader.
Requirements:
  1. At least 2 years of job-related experience preferred.
  2. Pediatric outpatient experience preferred.
  3. Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience required.
  4. License to practice occupational therapy in the state of Texas required.
  5. Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements from the American Heart Association required.
  6. PPMAB - Pediatric Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behaviors (Inpatient only) 60 Days, required.
