Key Responsibilities of a Recreational Activities Coordinator:

  • Uphold and protect the dignity, rights, and freedoms of our consumers while maintaining confidentiality regarding their disabilities.
  • Foster opportunities for community engagement and participation, ensuring that activities align with the personal interests of the individuals served while promoting positive interactions with community organizations.
  • Assist in the preparation and dismantling of events and activities.
  • Engage participants actively to ensure satisfaction and enjoyment in the program.
  • Ensure the safety of all participants and be prepared to respond to any emergencies.
  • Create diverse opportunities for participants to connect with one another, nurturing friendships in a natural and supportive environment.

Qualifications for a Recreational Activities Coordinator:

  • A High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
  • A satisfactory criminal background check is mandatory.
  • Ability to read and understand safety guidelines, policies, and procedural documents.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships effectively.
