Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Staff Services Manager I, the incumbent performs the duties of the Project Analyst by providing support to project managers, functional managers, and other staff relating to project scheduling and resourcing in the Project Resourcing and Schedule Management (PRSM) & Filemaker database.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to project managers, functional managers, and other staff relating to project scheduling and resourcing.
  • Extensive knowledge in the use of various computer applications, work breakdown structures, and processes related to planning, scheduling, and the statusing of projects.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects independently or in a team environment researching and analyzing project data and providing necessary information in an accurate and timely manner.

Working Conditions

The position is located in San Bernardino County. Multiple positions may be filled from this recruitment. While at the base of operation, the incumbent will work indoors in a climate-controlled office under artificial lighting. Activities include but are not limited to sitting for prolonged periods of time while using the telephone, keyboard, and video display terminal. Keyboard use will be approximately 75% of the time. Vacations may be restricted during peak workload periods.

Benefits

This position may be eligible for telework. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and based on Caltrans's evolving telework policy. Caltrans supports telework, recognizing that in-person attendance may be required based on operational needs. Employees are expected to be able to report to their worksites with minimum notification if an urgent need arises. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs. Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee's designated headquartered location, primary residence, and may be subject to CalHR regulations or applicable bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the headquartered location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
