About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our Enterprise Data Organization at The Hartford. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing ETL processes, as well as providing technical guidance and leadership in identifying and implementing new uses of information technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create, troubleshoot, and enhance complex ETL processes using Oracle PL/SQL and SSIS code packages
  • Lead and operate in cloud environments involving AWS, Snowflake, and migrate data assets to cloud
  • Design, implement, and oversee ETL processes, ensuring data integration and experience in distributed data systems
  • Provide highly technical consulting and leadership in identifying and implementing new uses of information technologies
  • Act as a Technical Leader, providing technical guidance and best practices adherence as needed
  • Consult with functional management in the analysis of short and long-range business requirements and recommend innovations that anticipate the future impact of changing business needs
  • Formulate logical statements of business problems and devise, test, and implement efficient, cost-effective application program solutions
  • Prepare charts, tables, and diagrams to assist in analyzing problems, utilizing various business, scientific, engineering, and mathematical techniques
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and 7 or more years' experience in IT systems analysis and application program development, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 5+ years strong Database Developer experience using Oracle PL/SQL - stored procedures, packages, functions, querying, testing, and deploying
  • 1-3 years experience of migrating assets to cloud - AWS and Snowflake environment
  • 5+ years of data analysis, manipulation, and development
  • 1+ years of experience in the insurance or investment industry
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Knowledge of Oracle, Unix/Linux Shell scripting, Autosys scheduling tool, Sub Version, and Github/Jenkins (CI/CD) version control Tools
  • Strong data warehouse applications knowledge in financial/insurance domain
  • Knowledge of Data Modeling and Database design is key to this role
What We Offer

The Hartford offers a competitive annualized base pay range of $113,360 - $170,040, as well as a comprehensive total compensation package that includes short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition.
