The Department of Dermatology at Johns Hopkins University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Histotechnologist II to join our team.

This is a full-time position that requires significant technical expertise and a high level of responsibility in handling delicate specimens.

The successful candidate will be responsible for processing tissue in the Mohs Dermatologic Surgery/Dermatopathology units, preparing equipment for use in frozen and fixed specimens, and grossing fresh tissue specimens.

Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for preparing slides, recutting blocks as requested by the Mohs surgeon/Dermpath attending, and cleaning the embedding center and stainer in compliance with credentialing policies.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate's Degree from an accredited Histotechnology program and two years of laboratory experience that includes some histology experience.

Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's in Biology, Chemistry, Histology or related field experience.

The successful candidate will be required to participate in quality assurance activities, maintain documentation for QA, and report QA problems to supervising physicians.

They will also be required to attend continuing education and mandatory training sessions.

This is a non-exempt position with a starting salary range of $40.00 HRLY (commensurate with experience).

The position is available on the School of Medicine Campus, Monday through Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm.
