We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our Toxicology team at Hennepin Healthcare. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in performing clinical laboratory testing of moderate to highly complex testing, utilizing automated equipment and specialized processes.
Key Responsibilities- Perform clinical laboratory testing, accurately interpreting results and identifying abnormal specimens.
- Follow established laboratory procedures and protocols, including patient identification, specimen collection, and documentation.
- Recognize, document, and communicate unusual and/or critical result values.
- Perform quality control processes, establish and monitor quality assurance and record-keeping systems.
- Perform calibration, maintenance, and performance checks on instrumentation.
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Laboratory Science.
- Completion of a CLS/MLS/MT training program approved by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS).
- Current certification as a Medical Technologist (MT)(ASCP), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS)(NCA), or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)(ASCP).
- One year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
