Medical Lab Technician/Phlebotomist Role

University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a skilled Medical Lab Technician/Phlebotomist to join our laboratory team. As a vital member of our team, you will work closely with physicians and researchers to provide accurate and timely test results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare samples for clinical laboratory tests as directed by study protocol.
  • Collect samples from patients as directed by physicians or research protocols.
  • Assist with clinic daily tasks.
  • Correlate data based on clinical knowledge, technical expertise, and other conditions affecting test results.
  • Promote customer satisfaction and participate in laboratory performance improvement.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of 2-year accredited Vocational/Technical MLT training.
  • MLT-certified by NCA/AMT/ASCP (or eligible for certification within 1 year of employment).
  • One year of experience running non-waived (moderate complexity) lab tests: hematology, urinalysis, microscopic tests.
  • Proficient at phlebotomy skills.
  • One year of clinical lab experience.
  • EMR and LIS experience.
