Medical Laboratory Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our Toxicology team at the Minnesota Visiting Nurse Agency. This full-time role will involve working a rotating schedule, including days, evenings, and every 3rd weekend.
Key Responsibilities- Perform clinical laboratory testing of moderate to highly complex testing, using automated equipment and specialized processes.
- Accurately interpret results and identify abnormal specimens submitted to the laboratory.
- Follow laboratory established procedures and processes, including patient identification, specimen collection, diagnostic clinical testing, and documentation.
- Recognize, document, and communicate unusual and/or critical result values.
- Perform quality control processes, establish and monitor quality assurance and record keeping systems, and participate in quality improvement programs.
- Perform calibration, maintenance, and performance checks on instrumentation, and participate in the preparation and evaluation of maintenance schedules and operating procedures.
- Troubleshoot processes for instrumentation, reagents, and inventory, and/or patient samples.
- Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or Medical Laboratory Science.
- Completion of a CLS/MLS/MT training program approved by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS).
- Current certification as a Medical Technologist MT(ASCP), Clinical Laboratory Scientist CLS(NCA), or Medical Laboratory Scientist MLS (ASCP), or Chemistry Technologist C(ASCP).
- Eligible for certification as a Toxicology Technologist (National Registry of Certified Chemists).
- One year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Customer service skills.
