Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our Toxicology team at the Minnesota Visiting Nurse Agency. This full-time role will involve working a rotating schedule, including days, evenings, and every 3rd weekend.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform clinical laboratory testing of moderate to highly complex testing, using automated equipment and specialized processes.
  • Accurately interpret results and identify abnormal specimens submitted to the laboratory.
  • Follow laboratory established procedures and processes, including patient identification, specimen collection, diagnostic clinical testing, and documentation.
  • Recognize, document, and communicate unusual and/or critical result values.
  • Perform quality control processes, establish and monitor quality assurance and record keeping systems, and participate in quality improvement programs.
  • Perform calibration, maintenance, and performance checks on instrumentation, and participate in the preparation and evaluation of maintenance schedules and operating procedures.
  • Troubleshoot processes for instrumentation, reagents, and inventory, and/or patient samples.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or Medical Laboratory Science.
  • Completion of a CLS/MLS/MT training program approved by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS).
  • Current certification as a Medical Technologist MT(ASCP), Clinical Laboratory Scientist CLS(NCA), or Medical Laboratory Scientist MLS (ASCP), or Chemistry Technologist C(ASCP).
  • Eligible for certification as a Toxicology Technologist (National Registry of Certified Chemists).
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
  • Customer service skills.
