The Colorado Coalition for the Homeless is seeking a Clinical Psychiatrist to join a dynamic multi-disciplinary clinical team. This role involves providing expert consultation to Primary Care Medical Providers (PCMPs) and Behavioral Health Providers (BHPs) at both the master's and doctoral levels, along with delivering comprehensive psychiatric care.
The selected candidate will utilize methods such as harm reduction and motivational interviewing to effectively engage with homeless and at-risk populations in a culturally sensitive and respectful manner.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with an integrated health care team, including case managers, outreach personnel, and specialists in behavioral health, primary care, and addiction medicine.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of programs that integrate psychiatric services across various health care clinics.
- Provide primarily daytime clinical services.
- Engage in educational opportunities for students and residents.
Note: To ensure optimal care for our clients, the chosen candidate must complete an internal credentialing and privileging process prior to starting the position. The timeline for this process will depend on the prompt submission of necessary documents.

- Deliver direct psychiatric care, including evaluations and follow-up consultations.
- Work closely with BHPs to provide consultations to PCMPs.
- Offer urgent care for individuals experiencing severe mental health crises.
- Conduct diagnostic assessments in line with DSM5 and/or ICD10 standards.
- Formulate treatment recommendations addressing both mental health and substance use disorders.
- Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to patient goals.
- Coordinate care with other providers within the organization and external agencies.
- Assess psychiatric disability status and prepare necessary documentation.
- Participate in risk assessments and facilitate transfers to inpatient care when required.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of clinical services in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Supervise and collaborate with Nurse Practitioner staff as needed.
- Adhere to HIPAA and APA guidelines to ensure patient confidentiality.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Medical Degree or Doctor of Osteopathy from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a psychiatric residency at an ACGME accredited program.
- Current board certification or eligibility in Psychiatry.
- Active DEA license.
- Experience working with economically disadvantaged individuals, particularly those who are or have been homeless.
- Preferred experience in an integrated care setting.
Compensation is competitive and based on relevant experience.
