Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Sustainability Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Safety, Health & Environmental Manager at our Graham, Kentucky facility and will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Compliance
    • Complete training and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
    • Support Process Safety Management activities
  • Hazardous Waste Management
    • Coordinate all areas of hazardous waste activities, including disposal
    • Collect data relative to inspection and waste generation, prepare manifests, and label hazardous and non-hazardous waste for off-site shipment
  • Support to Safety, Health & Environmental Team Lead
    • Act as a backup to the Safety, Health & Environmental Team Lead
    • Support all Environmental, Regulatory, and Technical (ERT) activities
  • Communication and Training
    • Coordinate safety training for on-site contractors and site employees
    • Develop and maintain a strong focus on individual and site safety
  • Operational Support
    • Obtain a license and safely operate a Powered Industrial Truck, Medium duty trucks, and pickup truck/trailer combo
    • Perform safety and environmental compliance activities
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping
    • Assist and maintain regulatory compliance documents, including OSHA logs and Safety, Health & Environmental audits
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Perform additional duties related to specific area assignments

Requirements

  • Education and Experience
    • Technical Associate's Degree, Technical Certification(s), or 5 years' experience in a related position or combination of experience(s)/degree at minimum; Bachelor's or higher degree from an accredited institution desired
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Proficiency in fundamentals of technical math
    • Proficient in MS Office Suite
    • Valid driver's license
    • Forklift experience desired
    • OSHA/HAZWOPER training desired, but not required, certification a plus
    • Waste management experience desired
    • Title V Conditional Major Air Permit experience desired
    • Knowledge of air pump systems desired
    • Ability to wear SCBA or Respirator
    • Ability to safely lift up to 50 +/- lbs. on a non-routine basis
