Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at LifeCare Home Health. As a Home Health Care Professional, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the comfort of their own homes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform patient visits and monitor their conditions, conducting tests and writing reports for the physician.
  • Administer medication and insulin, and complete blood pressure, glucose, urine, and stool tests.
  • Inspect wounds, change dressings, and handle personal grooming and hygiene.
  • Test for muscle weakness, bedsores, and any signs of infection.
  • Listen to the concerns of family members and answer their questions.
  • Educate caregivers and family on the aftercare or ongoing care of the patient.
  • Provide suggestions for improved healthcare to physicians and family members of the patient.
  • Monitor patient recovery and compile reports for the physician.
  • Keep abreast of developments in healthcare and attend workshops and lectures as required.
  • Collaborate with doctors and other healthcare professionals to develop improved diets and healthcare plans for patients.

Requirements:

  • One (1) year experience as an RN in a clinical care setting.
  • Preferred, Home health experience.
  • Nursing skills as defined as generally accepted standards of practice.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Demonstrates proven decision making skills.
  • Must read, write and comprehend English.

Education and Licensure:

  • Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing Program.
  • Preferred, BSN.
  • Current State professional license as an RN in any/all applicable states.
  • Current CPR.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged standing/walking required.
  • The ability to lift/transfer up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and patient needs, make quick decisions and allocate resources under stressful conditions.
  • Meet patient/family individualized psycho social needs.
  • Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

Environmental/Working Conditions:

  • Works in patient's home in various conditions.
  • Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens, bodily fluids and infectious diseases.
  • Some exposure to unpleasant weather; PRN emergency call.
  • Ability to travel locally and work a flexible schedule.
