Key responsibilities include:

  • Casting refractory parts by mixing materials and pouring into molds
  • Preparing molds for parts (finished parts weigh between 2-80 lbs)
  • Demolding refractory parts
  • Cosmetic work, washcoating, and hand sanding
  • Checking for cracks and voids, and filling if necessary
  • Operating mobile equipment
  • Maintaining a clean and safe workspace, adhering to workplace health and safety policies and procedures
  • Performing other tasks as directed
