Job Summary

Bowhead is seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineering Technician to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane Division. As a key member of our team, you will perform complex engineering assignments that require the application of standard procedures and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Construct and assemble components, sub-units, and simple models using standard equipment and techniques.
  • Follow detailed layouts and scientific diagrams to construct and package devices and sub-units of equipment.
  • Conduct various tests and experiments, including minor modifications to test setups and procedures, and record test data.
  • Extract and compile engineering data from field notes, manuals, and lab reports, processing data and identifying errors or inconsistencies.
  • Assist in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials.
  • Develop information concerning previous operational failures and modifications, and use judgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electronics with a minimum of five to seven years of relevant experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
  • Physical Demands: ability to lift up to 25 pounds, stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time, twist, bend, and squat periodically.
  • Security Clearance Requirements: ability to obtain a security clearance at the secret level.
