The chosen candidate will play a vital role in supporting Strategic Microelectronics at the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) in Crane, IN. If you are interested but not local, inquire about our relocation options.
Eligibility for a Secret clearance is essential. Please note: US Citizenship is mandatory to secure a Secret Clearance.
Essential Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering along with a minimum of 5 years of pertinent experience.
- Experience in Component Engineering.
- Strong communication skills to convey ideas effectively to clients, program offices, colleagues, and contractors.
- Familiarity with Microelectronics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with a willingness to learn advanced functions.
- Capability to draft technical reports.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of military industry standards (MIL-STD).
- Component Engineer with an emphasis on quality and reliability standards as per IEEE specifications.
- Awareness of distinctions among military, industry, commercial, and automotive standards.
- Possession of an active Secret Clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide component engineering assistance to the technologist team, including the preparation of technical reports.
- Advise military programs and designers regarding part selection.
- Diagnose component-related issues and propose solutions.
- Comprehend electrical testing methods, failure analysis techniques, and material analysis tools.
- Collaborate with program offices, prime contractors, designers, parts manufacturers, testing laboratories, and other governmental bodies.
- Develop and evaluate test plan documentation.
- Offer comprehensive life-cycle support for strategic systems.
- Engage in Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Audits, participate in Joint Electronic Devices Engineering Council (JEDEC) meetings, and conduct reviews while making recommendations on Military Performance Specifications and Test Methods.
- Willingness to travel 25-50% of the time.
