As a Substation Construction Specialist, you will perform substation construction and maintenance with minimal supervision, including trenching, installing conduit, pulling cable, and welding aluminum buswork.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing substation construction and maintenance with minimal supervision
  • Following verbal and written instructions from senior crew members
  • Operating company vehicles and equipment
  • Assisting electricians with material preparation and stocking trucks
  • Learning to operate aerial lifts, forklifts, skidsteers, backhoes, excavators, boom trucks, and other equipment used in substation construction

Requirements include:

  • Clean driving record and Class A Commercial Driver's License preferred
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to perform manual labor, including digging, trenching, lifting, and moving 50 pounds
  • Passing a skills assessment at the start of employment and a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check
  • High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of construction experience or completion of an accredited Substation Apprentice Program
