As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at Optum, you will play a vital role in helping patients receive accurate diagnoses and effective treatments. Your expertise in nuclear medicine procedures and examinations will enable you to work with state-of-the-art technology and collaborate with a talented team of healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine and specialized nuclear medicine procedures and examinations for radiological diagnosis
  • Administer radio-pharmaceuticals and medications for patient imaging and therapeutic procedures
  • Operate computed tomography (CT) scanners that are used in conjunction with nuclear medicine procedures
  • Provide images, data analysis, and patient information for diagnostic interpretation or therapeutic procedures
  • Evaluate images to determine the technical quality and calibration of instrumentation
  • Assist in the completion of the accreditation process for American College of Radiology (ACR) every 3 years
  • Perform quality control and reporting tasks, setting up and conducting procedures, maintain day-to-day schedules, assisting radiologist, and contributing to the efficient operation of the department assuring the quality and continuity of patient care
Requirements:
  • CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) certification
  • Associate degree or Baccalaureate degree in radiography, radiology, radiation therapy, or nuclear medicine
  • Ability to assist patients weighing 300 pounds or more and place them in appropriate positions for operation of equipment
  • Requires eyesight correctable to 20/20 to operate equipment and review images
