Job Title: Field Engineer

At American Bridge Company, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Engineer to join our team.

Job Summary

The Field Engineer will be responsible for managing the fabrication and construction of Dam Spillway Gates and Machinery, including site survey, engineering submittals, and development of means and methods of construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage site safety requirements, contract and budget management, construction and engineering work plan development, and ensure that work completed on site meets quality control requirements.
  • Assist the Project Manager with required documents and information to support the successful completion of construction activities.
  • Serve as a resource for project specifications, procedures, and relevant portions of the contract.
  • Attend construction project meetings and safety meetings as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 0-2 years of experience on bridge and/or steel structures, with proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Ability to learn construction practices and comply with federal, state, and local codes, industry standards, company procedures, contractual requirements, etc.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with ability to effectively plan and organize to meet project deadlines.

Supervisory Responsibilities

None, but must work well with other Field Engineers, Project Managers, and Craft Personnel on the project.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts related to structural engineering and related calculations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Computer Skills

Knowledge of Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software, reporting tools related to databases, and ability to learn design software programs.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Current driver's license.
