The Austin Company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team as a Staff Specialist. In this role, you will provide technical guidance and expertise to design and engineer complex Plumbing, Piping, HVAC, and Fire Protection systems.
Key Responsibilities- Apply diversified knowledge of design/mechanical engineering principles and practices to independently make decisions on significant design engineering problems or methods.
- Direct the use of computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment for diverse engineering assignments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safe, reliable, and energy-efficient operation of systems.
- Develop and implement innovative solutions to complex engineering problems.
- Normally requires a 4-year mechanical engineering degree and typically 9+ years' related experience (or equivalent working knowledge/experience).
- Professional registration is required at this level.
- Must be cognizant of the capabilities and limitations of various computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment.
This role requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times and walk job sites, including climbing stairs and navigating construction sites. Up to 20% travel by air and ground.
