Overview
The role involves planning, delivering, and assessing educational instruction in alignment with the standards and objectives set forth by Chesterfield County Public Schools (CCPS). Key Responsibilities
- Conduct classes at designated times and locations, ensuring effective instruction.
- Create and maintain a classroom environment that promotes effective learning, utilizing available resources.
- Prepare thoroughly for assigned classes and demonstrate preparedness when requested by supervisors.
- Exhibit a strong command of the subject matter.
- Implement necessary precautions to safeguard students, equipment, and materials.
- Deliver relevant curriculum content tailored to student needs.
- Continuously evaluate student learning and adjust instructional methods accordingly.
- Utilize district curriculum to design daily instructional activities.
- Maintain classroom order in accordance with behavioral management guidelines.
- Supervise students during non-classroom activities, including before and after school.
- Collaborate with fellow educators in planning and executing instructional strategies.
- Participate actively in faculty and departmental meetings.
- Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress.

Physical and Environmental Demands
The position requires the ability to sit and stand for extended periods, manual dexterity for operating office equipment, and the capacity to communicate effectively. Physical activities may include walking, standing, and light lifting. Occasional travel for field trips may be necessary, along with regular interaction with students and staff.
Qualifications
Candidates must possess a thorough understanding of instructional methodologies and academic curricula. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential. Candidates should demonstrate abilities in decision-making, problem-solving, and interpersonal relations.
Requirements
- Must hold or be eligible for a Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in the relevant subject area.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- A baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution is required.
- Submission of transcripts and references is necessary for applicants not currently employed by CCPS.
Candidates will undergo background checks as part of the hiring process.
