We are seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. As a Licensed Vocational Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care in a correctional health care setting, working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and in collaboration with the healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide basic and technical level of general nursing care to patients in a variety of correctional health care settings.
- Ensure the delivery of appropriate and timely health care to patients, in accordance with the Licensed Vocational Nurse scope of practice.
- Provide technical patient care under valid authorization by a provider's order and the delegation and clinical direction of the Registered Nurse.
- Support the care team for daily health care operations and communicate effectively with patients and other members of the healthcare team.
- Address the ongoing needs of patients, work with physicians and other healthcare providers, and promote the efficient, appropriate, and cost-effective use of healthcare resources.
- Possession of a valid, active license from the State of California to practice as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced correctional health care environment and maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and maintain accurate records and reports.
