Responsibilities:
What You'll Do


The Cashier plays a vital role in providing outstanding customer service and ensuring seamless transactional experiences for our valued customers.

You will serve as the first point of contact for our brand, responsible for welcoming and engaging with customers, accurately processing transactions, and maintaining a friendly store atmosphere.

• Surpass customer expectations by delivering exceptional service through effective communication and attentive listening.

• Welcome customers with a warm and friendly attitude as they enter the store.


• Utilize the Cashier script to guide customers through the transaction process and inform them about company programs.

• Execute cash management, return, layaway, and exchange policies with accuracy and adherence to company standards.

• Communicate professionally and positively with all Rural King associates and customers.

• Provide product information and respond to basic customer inquiries, offering recommendations as necessary.

• Collaborate with loaders to promptly assist customers with their requests.

• Efficiently handle transactions while prioritizing timely service and professionally resolving price disputes.


• Stand in the designated area near the registers to indicate availability for customer assistance when not engaged in a transaction.


• Highlight the benefits of joining the Rural King loyalty program, including special offers and personalized recommendations.

• Utilize the designated cashier script to engage with customers during transactions.


• Introduce the advantages of the Rural King Visa card to customers, emphasizing exclusive offers and rewards.


• Respond to incoming calls at the registers with professionalism, identifying the store and yourself as a representative of Rural King.

• Ensure accurate reconciliation of registers and proper filing of paperwork.

• Deactivate EAS devices or spider-wrapped products as needed.

• Maintain vigilance to prevent loss and deliver exceptional customer service.


• Execute cashier duties thoroughly, including stocking, cleaning, and managing registers.

• Refill snack stations promptly to meet customer needs and enhance their experience.

• Keep shopping carts and restrooms clean and well-maintained to ensure a positive shopping environment.

• Use general office equipment effectively.

• Participate in cross-training for versatility in various roles.

• Engage in learning initiatives such as training programs and workshops to enhance skills and stay updated on industry developments.


• Provide friendly and professional support to both internal and external customers, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods.

• Close vision for tasks involving computer use.
