Job Summary:

The Southern States Cashier will perform point of sale and salesroom duties in a retail setting. This role is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, operating point of sale equipment, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer service, including greeting, assisting, selling, and closing the sale.
  • Operate point of sale equipment efficiently and accurately.
  • Maintain the checkout area in a clean, neat, and orderly fashion.
  • Assist in physical inventories and merchandise the store according to corporate standards.
  • Answer phone calls to corporate standards and expectations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Previous sales experience is helpful.
  • Physical strength and dexterity to walk, stand, bend, climb, reach, stoop, twist, and lift/carry 50 pounds.
  • Vision, hearing, and speech are essential.
  • Hand coordination to use computer.
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
