About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Architect to join our Enterprise Technology Solutions team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the modernization of our user experiences for Travelers agents, employees, and customers. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in cloud-native architecture, APIs, and event-driven architecture to drive innovation and transformation within our organization.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Architect, you will be responsible for:
  • Developing and implementing cloud-native architecture solutions to modernize our user experiences
  • Collaborating with senior leadership and technology teams to develop architecture priorities and direction
  • Providing technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and other team members
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in user experience technologies and driving continuous improvement and innovation within the organization
  • Defining and leading technology proof of concepts to ensure feasibility of architecture solutions
  • Hands-on prototyping of new technology solutions
  • Partnering with software engineering teams to execute proof of technologies
  • Defining target state technology architecture and roadmaps
  • Ensuring alignment of IT initiatives with the target state
  • Building strong partnerships with engineering teams to ensure proper alignment of skills with technology direction
  • Preparing and delivering comprehensive communications to convey architectural direction and how it aligns with enterprise strategy
  • Optimizing talent strategy to ensure proper mix of resources and attracting and recruiting best talent
  • Continuously improving efficiency and effectiveness of the architecture

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field or equivalent with 5+ years of technology architecture experience
  • Expert knowledge of UI frameworks such as React, Angular, etc.
  • Experience implementing composable front-end and middle-tier integration patterns that can serve multiple user populations and handle heavy volume
  • Knowledge of Node.js and prior experience working with languages like Java, C#, etc.
  • Experience with large-scale technology platforms and cloud data technologies
  • Deep experience with AWS, APIs, accelerators, and DevSecOps
  • Cloud Architecture Certification (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure) or strong cloud architecture experience
  • Experience developing technology roadmaps aligned with business goals
  • Experience in technology modernization, including cloud-native migration and API strategy
  • Good understanding of security architecture
  • Experience in agile operating models and insurance technology
