Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at Kewa Pueblo Health Corporation (KPHC). As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in the processing of specimens for specific diagnostics tests, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare specimens, media, and equipment for laboratory testing
  • Perform miscellaneous administrative duties and provide results to providers in a timely manner
  • Adhere to all professional and ethical behavior standards of the healthcare industry
  • Interact with patients, employees, and vendors in an honest, trustworthy, and dependable manner
  • Participate in staff trainings and answer questions from other professionals
  • Maintain quality assurance and results by performing quality controls and verifying equipment function
Requirements
  • Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology and one year of work experience in a laboratory setting
  • Certification in Phlebotomy and three years of work experience in a laboratory setting
  • Skills required for proper specimen collection, implementation of standard laboratory procedures, and performance of each test method
  • Ability to set-up, calibrate, operate, and maintain standard laboratory and test equipment
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree obtained from an approved medical laboratory technician program
  • Two years of work experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting
  • Prior experience working with Indian Health Services (IHS), a Tribe, or Tribal organization
