POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Systems Calibration Specialist is tasked with strategizing, developing, and executing subsystem-level evaluations within a state-of-the-art testing and development environment. Responsibilities also encompass data interpretation, calibration formulation, identifying opportunities for data optimization, and spearheading the transition of laboratory-based tasks to mathematical models. This role demands creativity, initiative, and independent decision-making, alongside effective collaboration across various organizational teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Monitor and communicate testing advancements and challenges.
  • Design and implement first-time capable evaluations for calibration and hardware enhancement.
  • Lead the identification and resolution of challenges arising during setup and evaluation.
  • Engage actively in Product Development Teams and collaborate with Technical Experts to refine existing evaluations and innovate new ones, which may include understanding related ECU algorithms and calibration methodologies.
  • Utilize and develop post-processing tools to ensure data integrity and assess the utility of data in producing final calibrations or reports.
  • Create and enforce standardized work processes and protocols on a global scale.
  • Collaborate with facilities, TRBs, calibration teams, and others to enhance process and testing efficiency.
  • Support mathematical modeling initiatives, transitioning additional tasks from physical and laboratory environments to mathematical frameworks and data analysis.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and development opportunities for new engineers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in engine controls and calibration.
  • Experience in a laboratory setting (e.g., safety protocols, instrumentation, troubleshooting).
  • Knowledge of data post-processing techniques (e.g., data evaluation, distinguishing quality data, effectively presenting findings).
  • Familiarity with AVL PUMA/IndiCom/CAMEO and ETAS INCA software.
  • Proven track record of achieving results.
  • Strong planning and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work autonomously and collaboratively, with the ability to establish peer relationships.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and resources, working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in computer systems and data acquisition technologies.
  • Experience in data analysis to enhance testing or model outcomes.
