The Marine Maintenance Technician will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and productive operation of the dredge and attendant plant.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain all dredge and supporting equipment in good operating condition, adhering to manufacturer recommendations and industry standards.
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
- Manage inventory of spare parts and supplies, ensuring timely requisition and procurement.
- Monitor and report on consumables, including fuel, lubricants, and water, to optimize resource utilization.
- Conduct regular inspections of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components to identify potential issues and implement preventative measures.
- Collaborate with the operations team to ensure seamless execution of maintenance tasks and minimize disruptions to operations.
- Participate in safety and environmental initiatives to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
- Heavy equipment maintenance experience in a marine environment.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic skills, with ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing, walking, and lifting up to 30 pounds.
- Experience with marine equipment maintenance and repair.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols, with ability to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
- Ability to work in a team environment and contribute to a positive, safety-focused culture.
