Career Opportunity Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Specialist to join our team at Ensemble Health Partners. As a Patient Access Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of patients through our healthcare system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assign accurate medical records numbers (MRNs) and complete medical necessity/compliance checks to ensure accurate patient information.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, families, and healthcare providers, as measured by Press Ganey scores.
  • Operate the telephone switchboard to relay incoming, outgoing, and interoffice calls, adhering to policies and providing compassionate customer service.
  • Meet point-of-service (POS) goals and objectives, including accurate registration, insurance verification, and billing processes.
  • Conduct quality audits and reporting to ensure accurate and timely completion of patient accounts.
  • Preregister patient accounts prior to visits, including inbound and outbound calling to obtain demographic, insurance, and financial information.
  • Explain and obtain signatures on general consent for treatment forms, as well as distribute patient education documents.
  • Review eligibility responses in insurance verification systems and select applicable insurance plan codes, entering benefit data to support POS and billing processes.
  • Screen medical necessity using the Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) software and distribute ABNs as necessary.
Requirements
  • 1+ years of customer service experience
  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Certified Registration Counselor (CRC) certification required within 6 months of hire (company-paid)
