We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Access Specialist to join our team at Ensemble Health Partners. As a Patient Access Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of patient information and services.
Key Responsibilities- Admitting and Registration: Perform admitting duties for all patients admitted for services at the hospital, ensuring accurate and timely completion of medical necessity and compliance checks.
- Patient Communication: Provide excellent customer service to patients, explaining general consent for treatment forms, obtaining necessary signatures, and distributing patient education documents.
- Insurance Verification: Review eligibility responses in insurance verification systems, selecting applicable insurance plan codes, and entering benefit data into systems to support point-of-service collections and billing processes.
- Medical Necessity Screening: Accurately screen medical necessity using the Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) software, informing Medicare patients of possible non-payment of tests and distributing ABNs as necessary.
- Documentation and Reporting: Conduct audits of accounts, ensuring accurate and timely completion of forms, and providing statistical data to Patient Access leadership.
- Customer Service Experience: 1+ year of customer service experience required.
- Education: High School Diploma/GED required.
- Certifications: CRCR certification required within 6 months of hire (company-paid).
