Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team at Tri-County Human Services. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare providers in delivering high-quality services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Patient Support: Provide emotional support to patients, answer questions, and maintain a clean and comfortable reception area.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Accurately file and retrieve patient records, maintain confidentiality, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Financial Management: Record and update financial information, collect patient charges, and manage credit extended to patients.
  • Pre-Exam Preparation: Prepare patients for exams, provide examination gowns and drapes, and assist healthcare providers during procedures.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain office inventory, order supplies, and schedule equipment maintenance.
  • Verification and Validation: Verify patient information, review medical history, and confirm purpose of visit or treatment.
  • Supporting Healthcare Providers: Assist healthcare providers during exams, prepare laboratory specimens, and perform basic laboratory tests.
  • Patient Education: Provide medication and diet information, answer questions, and educate patients on their care.
  • Revenue Generation: Record billing information, complete insurance forms, and respond to insurance inquiries.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Follow operating instructions, troubleshoot breakdowns, and perform preventive maintenance.
  • Professional Development: Participate in educational opportunities, read professional publications, and maintain personal networks.
Requirements
  • Clinical Skills, Creating a Safe, Effective Environment, Health Promotion and Maintenance, Hospital Environment, Procedural Skills, Documentation Skills, Verbal Communication, Inventory Control, Planning, Dependability, Medical Teamwork.
  • High school diploma or GED and at least three (3) years of full-time medical assistant or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid/private insurance documentation and billing procedures.
  • Knowledge of medical billing and coding, coordination of benefits, and billing procedures.
  • Demonstrates capability to monitor quality documentation and service utilization trends.
  • Valid driver's license.
