Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Music Instructor to join our faculty at Nashville State Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching music courses, developing curriculum, and providing academic advising to students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach music courses, including Introduction to Music and Music Appreciation, in a variety of delivery modes, including on-ground, online, hybrid, and web-enhanced.
  • Develop and implement curriculum for music courses, ensuring alignment with college and departmental goals.
  • Provide academic advising to students, including guidance on course selection and career development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement departmental and college-wide initiatives.
  • Stay current in the field of music through professional development activities and maintain expertise in teaching and learning.
Requirements
  • Master's degree or higher in Music or a related field.
  • At least 18 graduate semester hours in Music or a related field.
  • Documented experience teaching music courses at the college level.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity and accessibility in teaching and learning.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Terminal degree in Music or a related field.
  • Documented experience with ensemble direction at the college level.
  • Documented experience teaching music courses in a variety of modalities, including in-person, hybrid, virtual, and asynchronously online.
  • Demonstrated experience incorporating current technologies into teaching.
Working Conditions

This is a nine-month faculty position, with teaching assignments on all Davidson County campuses and prison sites. The successful candidate will be based on the White Bridge Road campus.
