Position Overview

Salary Range: $95,000 - $115,000

Lighting Maintenance Inc. (LMI) is in search of a seasoned Electrical Operations Supervisor to lead and expand its Richmond Division. The role includes a company vehicle and a comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate in establishing and advancing the long-term objectives of the Division.
  • Aid in defining project scopes and preparing cost estimates.
  • Assess service efficiency and propose enhancements to elevate customer satisfaction and profitability.
  • Oversee ongoing maintenance schedules for service contracts.
  • Analyze workload and schedule service tasks to optimize workforce utilization and maximize profits.
  • Review and authorize all client requests.
  • Address customer concerns to guarantee satisfaction.
  • Conduct interviews for job candidates, prepare performance evaluations, recommend disciplinary measures, approve timesheets, and suggest relevant training.
  • Engage in marketing efforts to attract potential clients.
  • Visit clients to nurture relationships and conduct Quality Control Inspections.
  • Manage personnel by recruiting, onboarding, and training staff; ensuring a safe and secure work environment; and fostering opportunities for personal development.
  • Act as a subject matter expert to assess qualifications for skilled tasks.
  • Advocate for safe work practices and investigate incidents.
  • Achieve team results by setting clear job expectations; planning, monitoring, and evaluating performance; coaching, counseling, and managing staff; and developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation of work completed.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism with clients, vendors, and colleagues, striving to build positive working relationships.
  • Focus on customer acquisition, relationship management, and business growth.
  • Oversee service projects, including pre-planning, cost management, and invoicing.
  • Supervise and schedule field service technicians.
  • Prepare cost estimates for service projects.
  • Aim to meet or exceed annual revenue and profit margin targets for the service department.
  • Operate vehicles and equipment safely, adhering to safety protocols, reporting hazards, and contributing to a secure working environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of standard practices, materials, tools, and equipment in the electrical/lighting industry.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the construction, installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical/lighting systems.
  • Ability to manage a portfolio of service projects and clients while expanding the existing customer base.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Experience in estimating and/or project management of commercial construction projects.
  • Required electrical field experience.
  • Journeyman License is mandatory; Licensed Master Electrician is preferred.
  • Familiarity with end-user customer projects.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and computer skills.
  • Excellent organizational, record-keeping, and follow-up abilities.
  • Proficient in time management and multitasking.
  • Capability to identify and fulfill customer expectations and requirements.
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, management, vendors, and clients.
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills.
  • Detail-oriented and deadline-driven.
  • Proficient in computer applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Accounting Software.
