Job Title: Patient Service Representative

At Palomar Health Medical Group, we are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Patient Service Representative to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and check in patients, ensuring a positive and professional experience.
  • Answer phones and respond to patient inquiries in a timely and courteous manner.
  • Document patient information accurately and efficiently.
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient flow to minimize wait times.
  • Collect co-payments, deductibles, and co-insurance, and explain billing procedures to patients.
  • Prepare and file patient forms, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Balance daily monies and receipts, and create deposits.
  • Make recommendations to improve processes and procedures to enhance patient satisfaction and quality.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of one year of experience in a customer service position, preferably in a medical practice setting.
  • Working knowledge of contracted insurances, patient benefits, and third-party requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
