Senior Research Faculty in Engineering and Computing

The Senior Research Faculty in Engineering and Computing will play a pivotal role in advancing research initiatives within the College of Engineering and Computing. This position is designed for a dynamic leader who will spearhead workforce development research, particularly in the realm of national security.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and conduct independent research as a Principal Investigator (PI) or Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) on federally funded projects focused on workforce development in the defense sector.
- Deliver high-quality, reproducible research outcomes and contribute to scholarly publications.
- Engage in teaching professional development courses in systems engineering and related disciplines.
- Advise the Associate Dean for Research on strategic initiatives pertaining to workforce development in engineering.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders within the university and the broader defense community to enhance research impact.
Qualifications:
Required:
- PhD in Systems Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Principal Investigator on multiple federally funded research projects.
- Demonstrated ability to work with leaders across various Department of Defense components.
- Experience in teaching and developing curricula for federal agencies and civilian contractors.
- Extensive background in academia with a focus on research centers.
- Strong knowledge of technical and program management principles.
- Recognized expertise in developing a technical workforce for federal agencies.
- Established presence in the Systems Engineering professional community.
- Proven track record of presenting at conferences and publishing research findings.
- Eligibility for U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain necessary security clearance.
Preferred:
- Experience with non-DoD agencies and contractors.
- Possession of an active security clearance.
