Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Treatment Planning: Conduct thorough and accurate patient assessments utilizing speech and language skills and interviewing techniques.
- Treatment Coordination: Develop and coordinate treatment protocols/programs for patients referred to speech and language service.
- Therapy Interventions: Plan appropriate therapy interventions based on assessed needs.
- Evaluation and Adaptation: Evaluate care given for effectiveness and appropriateness, and adapt treatment protocols as needed.
- Consultation and Collaboration: Consult with physicians regarding any change in patient condition on treatment program.
- Patient and Family Education: Include patient and family/caregiver in care, and educate caregiver on proper techniques in caring for the patient.
- Supervision and Feedback: Supervise, evaluate, and coordinate patient care activities as they relate to speech and language pathology services. Provide feedback to department Director on patient care matters.
- Education: Master's degree or equivalent from an approved college or university in Speech and Language Pathology.
- Experience: Preferred 1-2 years of job-related experience.
- Certification and Licensure: Completion of clinical fellowship year, certification of clinical competency, and licensure with the State of Indiana.
