Job Summary

As a DOT Driver with TAS Environmental Services, LP, you will play a critical role in keeping communities safe and clean. This position requires a CDL "Class A" License with the ability to attain a Hazmat endorsement. You will be responsible for safely operating a collection truck while driving through neighborhoods and communities across the country.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct pre-trip inspections of mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment
  • Display consistent attention to safety in accordance with all applicable state and federal regulations
  • Collect delivery instructions from dispatcher, verifying instructions and routes
  • Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status in compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations
  • Report any vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles
  • Drive trucks to weigh stations to document weights and to comply with state regulations
  • Transport non-hazardous and hazardous materials in accordance with applicable guidelines, DOT, and company safety procedures
  • Handle various products, hazardous and non-hazardous materials
  • Perform industrial work and biohazard cleanups
  • Stage, profile, and process for disposal hazardous and non-hazardous waste
  • Assist in the removal of soil, debris, and other materials, and cleaning up spill sites
  • Operate and clean equipment
Requirements
  • CDL "Class A" License with the ability to attain a Hazmat endorsement
  • 2-5 years truck driving experience
  • HAZWOPER and Confined Space
  • TWIC Card preferred
Physical/Mental Requirements

This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing at times. The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 60 pounds. Must be able to frequently climb stairs and ladders. May occasionally deal with heights. Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, employees, and managers. Effective conflict resolution abilities. Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form. Ability to read, write, and do mathematics. Ability to wear Personal Equipment, including Respiratory Protection. Consist of both office setting and physical jobsite. Able to work in confined spaces when needed.
