Position Overview:
The City of Post Falls is seeking a qualified individual to fill the role of School Safety Officer (SSO). This position is essential for maintaining a secure environment within educational institutions.
Primary Responsibilities:
The primary function of the SSO is to uphold state and local regulations, respond to emergencies, conduct investigations, and ensure the safety of students and staff. Key duties include:
- Patrolling designated areas of the city using various modes of transportation.
- Enforcing laws and maintaining a visible presence in the community.
- Responding to emergencies and public safety incidents.
- Conducting thorough investigations and collecting evidence.
- Preparing detailed reports on incidents and activities.
- Engaging with community members to foster positive relationships.
Additional Responsibilities:
SSOs may also be involved in specialized assignments, such as community outreach, training programs, and collaboration with other law enforcement agencies. Other duties may include:
- Preparing legal documents such as search and arrest warrants.
- Participating in ongoing training and professional development.
- Maintaining and caring for issued equipment and vehicles.
Qualifications:
