Anesthesia Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Anesthesia Technician to join our team at Kaiser Permanente.

Job Overview

The Anesthesia Technician is responsible for assisting anesthesia providers in delivering high-quality care to patients undergoing surgical procedures. This role involves preparing and maintaining equipment and supplies, monitoring patients' vital signs, and providing support to the healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre-Procedure Preparation: Assist anesthesia providers in setting up equipment and supplies, ensuring that all necessary items are available and functioning properly.
  • Patient Monitoring: Apply monitoring devices to patients, operate physiological monitors, and maintain accurate records of patient vital signs.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Monitor and maintain anesthesia machines, perform routine preventive maintenance checks, and ensure that all equipment is calibrated and cleaned according to manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Supply Management: Maintain adequate inventory levels of supplies and equipment, ordering and stocking as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited program in Anesthesia Technology with an AS degree or certified by the American Society of Technologists and Technicians (ASATT).
  • Certifications: American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians - Technician within 3 months of hire or American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians - Technologist within 3 months of hire.
  • Skills: Ability to work in stressful situations, respond rapidly to requests, and use Epic Healthconnect effectively.
Working Conditions

This role requires working in a fast-paced environment, often under pressure to meet deadlines. The successful candidate will be able to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work independently with minimal supervision.

Estimated Salary Range

$55,000 - $75,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
