Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Services Engineer to join our Apple Services Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our media encoding platforms and workflows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and troubleshoot the ingestion/encoding pipeline for all Apple Services media, with a focus on sports and original content.
  • Conduct technical analysis of incidents, perform root cause investigation, and review with technical teams.
  • Partner with internal business and operations teams to test, monitor, and support media projects and features.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance media workflow efficiency and quality.
Requirements
  • Experience diagnosing technical issues and knowledge of process management, metrics, and KPIs.
  • Familiarity with digital media files and content, video playback technologies, Digital Rights Management, and HTTP Live Streaming.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to understand technical concepts and connect with non-technical customers.
  • Bachelor's degree or 4 years equivalent work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with broadcast transport technologies, livestream ad-insertion technologies, and live broadcast environments.
  • Experience with SQL, XML, and command line tools (chmod, curl, grep, ssh, scp).
  • Knowledge of video ecosystem: delivery and processing of large scale VOD and EST video and audio.
