Maintenance Technician

Are you looking for a challenging and dynamic role where no two days are the same? We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Technician at Inova Health System.
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including observing mechanical devices in operation, dismantling equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts, and inspecting used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Observing mechanical devices in operation and listening to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
- Dismantling devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
- Examining form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
- Inspecting used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
- Adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments.
- Repairing or replacing defective parts.
- Installing special functional and structural parts in devices.
- Lubricating and cleaning parts.
- Starting devices to test their performance.
- Setting up and operating lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
- Programming PLC's.
- Initiating purchase order for parts and machines.
- Repairing electrical equipment.
- Performing maintenance on production and office areas.
- Performing building upkeep tasks that include but are not limited to painting, sanitation, grounds keeping.
- Following and ensuring good manufacturing practices at all times.
- Following and adhering to the company's safety program.
Requirements include:
- 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance experience to include all phases of preventive and corrective maintenance, including industrial and/or commercial facilities maintenance.
- PLC programming experience required.
- Basic computer skills.
