Virtualization Engineer Role

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a skilled Virtualization professional to support a US Government Customer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement ICS virtualized training ranges using Terraform and Ansible.
  • Review customer requirements, plan network topology (Levels 3, 2, and 1), and create network diagrams.
  • Build and configure virtual machines (VMs) using ESXi and VMware software.
  • Research and customize open-source projects to virtualize hardware components (PLCs, HMIs, Gateways, Connectors).
  • Install and configure services and programs on VMs (Windows/Linux OS), aligning with network diagrams and I/O processes.
  • Integrate ICS system components for seamless communication and efficient control in virtualized environments.
  • Develop and modify software programs (JAVA, Python) to configure control systems, including logic, data acquisition, alarming, and visualization.
  • Perform system maintenance, troubleshooting, updates, security patches, and performance monitoring.
  • Implement cybersecurity measures, assess vulnerabilities, and ensure system integrity and availability.
  • Maintain documentation of system configurations, procedures, and user manuals.
  • Provide training on control system operation and maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience (5 years with Master's degree) in building ICS virtualized training ranges.
  • Expertise in Terraform and Ansible software for system deployment and management.
  • Proficiency in network planning and creating network diagrams.
  • Hands-on experience with ESXi, VMware, and virtual machine management.
  • Strong programming skills in JAVA and Python for control system configuration.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and implementation in industrial control systems.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required.
