The Alliance for Infants and Toddlers is seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Specialist to provide developmental and clinical support to individuals and agencies working with children and families where attachment risk is a concern.
Key Responsibilities- Case Consultation: Provide clinical support through case consultation with individuals and teams, including service coordinators, early intervention providers, and the behavioral health system.
- Observations and Assessments: Conduct observations and administer social emotional assessments as appropriate, and confer with individuals or teams providing services to children and families.
- Service Coordination: Provide at-risk service coordination for targeted children and families, and analyze and interpret related records and reports.
- Training and Collaboration: Conduct trainings as appropriate, and collaborate with provider networks, including mental health providers, to process and track referrals.
- Maternal Depression Screening: Conduct maternal depression screening and support staff in their responsibility to screen.
- Professional Knowledge and Abilities: Knowledge of principles, policies, and procedures governing Early Intervention, infant/toddler development, attachment theory, and dyadic approaches to working with caregivers and their children.
- Experience and Education: Master's Degree in counseling, social work, behavioral health, or family counseling, with current licensure or in process of obtaining licensure. Infant/Toddler Mental Health Certification or Endorsement preferred.
- Skills and Abilities: Highly effective communication skills, ability to establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with families, staff, physicians, and community service agencies, and demonstrated ability to provide culturally competent services and supports in diverse communities.
- Work Environment: The work is performed with a considerable degree of initiative and independent judgment, and requires the ability to work at floor level with young children and lift and handle young children.
- Clearances: Possess a reliable motor vehicle and valid PA motor license, and have Act 33, 34, and FBI Clearances.
