About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Nuclear Field Engineer to join our team at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory. As a Nuclear Field Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our nation's submarine and aircraft carrier Fleets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct highly visible work with a broad spectrum of responsibility, including technical support, consultation, and oversight through the performance of installation, testing, diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair of complex equipment and nuclear systems.
  • Engage in a shipboard industrial environment, meeting directly with ship's force, senior shipyard leadership, and Naval Reactors.
  • Provide technical direction for problem resolution and oversee compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend new products and equipment upgrades as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 1 year of relevant experience; or Currently or previously EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program; or SRE qualified.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous experience in applying innovative solutions to resolve problems/improve performance.
  • Prior Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program operational or design experience is desired but not required.
