Job Summary

As a Medical Officer at McDermott, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical care to personnel on board and on site. This includes administering day-to-day medical care, providing first aid for casualties, and maintaining overall hygiene quality control of the vessel. You will also be responsible for sampling and testing potable water, arranging first aid exercises and lectures, and consulting with the HSES Manager/ HSES Advisor to arrange training presentations. Additionally, you will maintain medical inventory, record and control COSHH registers, and liaise with the Master and OCM/Superintendent regarding medical care of personnel onboard.

Key Responsibilities

Administer day-to-day medical care to personnel on board and on site
Provide first aid for casualties resulting from accidents
Maintain overall hygiene quality control of the vessel
Sample and test potable water
Arrange first aid exercises and lectures
Consult with HSES Manager/ HSES Advisor to arrange training presentations
Maintain medical inventory
Record and control COSHH registers
Liaise with Master and OCM/Superintendent regarding medical care of personnel onboard

Requirements

Medical Doctor or recognized paramedic training
Experience working offshore on a marine vessel or oil rig
Valid Offshore Medical
BOSIET Training or Equivalent (OPITO approved)
Fluent in spoken and written English
Knowledge of DP Vessel operations
