The Role

If you possess a profound understanding of industrial processes, control systems, and digital technologies, we invite you to consider the Senior Advanced Process Control (APC) Engineer position within our Automation & Digitalization division.
In this role, you will utilize advanced process control, AI, and IoT 5.0 technologies to facilitate digital transformation and enhance operational excellence in the manufacturing sector.
Your Responsibilities
As a key contributor, you will:
- Leverage your expertise in process control and automation systems to analyze specific processes within the Pulp & Paper industry.
- Identify opportunities for implementing advanced control strategies to enhance efficiency and product quality.
- Collaborate with Pulp & Paper clients to evaluate their existing processes, pinpoint challenges, and align with their production goals.
- Provide technical recommendations and support for the implementation of advanced control solutions.
- Work alongside a team of process and automation specialists to design and develop tailored advanced control solutions.
- Oversee the deployment of advanced control systems, including configuring control loops and conducting system testing.
- Utilize ANDRITZ's proprietary Metris software to monitor and analyze mill performance, addressing any issues and optimizing control algorithms.
- Enhance product quality by minimizing variations and defects through advanced control strategies.
- Facilitate training for client personnel to ensure effective operation and maintenance of advanced control systems.

Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in Industrial Technology / Automation or Electrical Engineering.
- A minimum of six years of experience in process control and automation.
- At least three years of project management experience.
- Strong knowledge of Pulp & Paper industrial processes.
- Proven leadership and exceptional analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Proficiency in relevant software for data analysis and process control.
- Knowledge of electrical and instrumentation.
- Eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) is a plus.
- A valid passport and willingness to travel as needed.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
